Baby Bird

We found a baby bird that had fallen out of the mesquite tree in our front yard.  I called some animal rescuers and found out that I could touch the bird without endangering its future.  I tried placing the bird back in the tree to see if its family would reclaim it, but I didn't think they did.  Plus the bird kept falling out of the tree.  We ended up taking the bird to an animal hospital and dropping it off.  I filled out a form when I dropped it off and it had a place where I could mark that I wanted to be present when they released the bird back into the world.  I haven't heard from them since, and this happened in May.  I'm hoping the baby bird survived and that they just decided not to call me since it wasn't a special bird like a hawk.  I think it was a kind of dove or pigeon.  The bird was really cute, and the girls loved helping me hold it as we drove it to the hospital.
Isn't Katie's hat ADORABLE?!!  Thanks for the hat for Katie's B-day, Janet!

Swimsuit Fashion Show

Grandma and Grandpa Wardle gave Katie a new swimsuit and robe for her birthday.  She LOVES it!  She always says, "I look BEAUTIFUL" when she wears it.  Thank you so much!  And of course RuthAnne wanted to join in the fun.  If there's a camera shooting, she's there... and if others are dressing up at all, she's there too.  :)

Happy 3rd Birthday, Katie-Bug!

I dressed the girls up and took pictures of them on Katie's 3rd Birthday.  For Katie's cake, we decorated cupcakes with toy bugs so she could have a "Katie-Bug" cake, and because she LOVES playing with bugs.

Slaying Goliath

We had a Family Home Evening on slaying the "Goliath's" or challenges/temptations in our lives by trusting in the Lord as David in the Bible did.  RuthAnne and I drew the Goliath, and measured the paper out 9' 7" for the appropriate height for Goliath.  His proportions are pretty interesting, and his hand beckoning David with his thumb instead of his index finger are comical.  The other joke is that Goliath works out his left arm more than his right.

Random Shots

I'm always amazed at the different ensembles Ruthie throws together.

She has a lot of different expressions that just crack me up.

Hot Stuff!

We began tiling in September 2010.  The hallway is almost completed!!!  Then we'll have the bathrooms and utility room leftover.  Mason has done pretty much all of the work, and tiling is indeed A LOT of work.  He has done a beautiful job so far.  We're both excited for when it'll be done.

Mesa Temple Easter Pageant

We went to the Mesa Temple Easter Pageant right before Easter this year.  It was a fun trip.  Mason and I were able to attend the temple, and spend some extra time with the kids.  We picked up dinner and ate it while we waited for the program to begin.  Before the program started, cast members were on the lawn greeting people.  There were real sheep there too!  The kids loved seeing that!  We also had our family photo taken with people dressed as a Roman soldier and a woman from Jerusalem.  I'll have to add that photo later.  That night, we stayed at a hotel and went swimming for a little bit.  It was LOADS of fun.  We're thinking about making it a family tradition.
It was nice to actually spend some time watching and thinking about the wonderful sacrifice our Savior made for us, and that we have hope because He overcame the world, and arose from the dead.  I know He lives and that my family has hope of being together forever because of Him, of which I'm truly grateful.

The flowers on the Mesa Temple Grounds were incredible!

Mason is such a wonderful father.
