Texas Trip

Shortly after Asher began kindergarten, I took a trip to Texas with RuthAnne and Katie.  My best friend's father, Glenn Roshto, had passed away, and I wanted to attend his funeral.  I stayed with my sister, Monique, who with my mom, watched the girls, so I could be with my best friend, Aubrey.  After the funeral, we watched her children for a day so they could take care of some family business while in town.  My sister and I took our kids with her 2 eldest to the water park in Lewisville (which is an amazing water park), while my mom watched all the little ones at home.
I was also able to visit with family for dinner Sunday night.  It meant a lot for me to see them all.  And I was grateful for the opportunity to spend time with Aubrey as well.

Charley's Surgery

So when I was in Texas during August, Charley went nuts and attempted jumping our gate once again.  Unfortunately, she got caught on a jagged edge of one of the posts, and ripped open her leg.  Mason had to remove her from the fence and take her to an Animal ER with Asher.  She's doing fine now, and Mason has repaired the gate.  She no longer is able to escape our backyard.  Her jumping days are OVER!!!!  (Evil scientist laugh would fit in well here).  Ever since that gate has been repaired, our lives have become so much easier.  I don't come home to dog hair all over my couches, or "accidents" on any of the floors (especially carpet), or chewed up diapers everywhere.  It's so nice to just put her outside and then not worry about closing doors, putting garbage cans up, or covering couches.

Asher's 1st Day of School

Asher started kindergarten!  He learned so much this past year with his fabulous teachers.  We have been very excited to see his progress!  He reads very well.  While reading scriptures as a family, he can read many of the big words on his own.

Here is a picture of Asher showing us his work at the first conference.

During the first week of school, we had our friends, the Paul's, over for games.  The kids looked so cute watching a movie all together.

And I can't believe how each of my children have grown since these pictures have been taken!
